Birth

Congratulations!!

To be guaranteed that your newborn enjoys all the benefits from your policy you will need to ensure that your baby’s birth is registered. Normally the baby will be registered by the nurses at the hospital where it was born. You will then be able to collect the birth certificate from the District office near you. However if the baby was not registered or not born at the hospital, you should register the baby at the District officer near you, where you will also collect the certificate.

If you have an existing Botswana Life policy, you can add your baby as a beneficiary and covered person. You should also consider buying an educational policy to finance your child’s future education.

If you have a Will ensure that you add the baby to it. If you are covered under a medical aid scheme, add the baby to it in order to ensure prompt medical assistance when required.

Above all, give lots of love and see your baby grow.
