Step 1. Know our products

• Read about our products and benefits and choose the one that meet your needs.
• Ask yourself whether you want a savings (pure endowment) or a cover policy or a combination. That you might discuss with our financial advisors or Agents.
• If you choose a savings policy, ask yourself how long (term) you want the policy to run and how you want to pay and how much are you willing to pay.
• If it is life cover policy, generally these type runs for a longer term as the proceeds are payable upon the policy holders or insured’s death.
• Find out whether you meet the age, health requirements as well as limitations as stipulated in the product of your choice.
• Ask yourselves whether you can you afford the policy and sustain it for the policy term or duration.
• If so, go to step 2.
  

Step 2. Buying a Botswana Life Insurance policy

• Contact an intermediary such as agent, a broker or an agency.
• Provide the intermediary with complete details, such your personal details i.e. Name, correct date of birth, certified Omang / Identity copies and other details that he / she will request form you.
• Botswana Life will mail the policy document to confirm the purchase.
• Keep it in a safe place and inform those closest to you.

Step 3. Amendments or any advice on your policy

• Maintain a relationship with your intermediary for the following:
  • future amendments
  • claims
  • When you want to buy another policy.
  • When in doubt and need advice on your policy or anything concerning our company.
