How To Pay?
Botswana Life Insurance has the following ways that you can pay your premiums:
1. Deduction from salary
The company has an arrangement with the central government, councils, a number of private companies and parastatals to deduct monthly premiums from their staff's salaries and forward the same to us. You can fill in a form mandating your payroll officers to deduct premiums from your salary. Your employer will only stop deductions upon instruction from us. To make the correct deduction, it is very important that you provide us with the correct information regarding the following:
- Company
- Department
- Omang number
- Payroll number
- Type of employment (Permanent and Pensionable or Industrial Class)
2. Payment by Direct Debit
You can also pay by direct debit. Should you chose this payment method, it is important that you provide us with the following information for us to successfully collect their premiums:
- Account number
- Bank name
- Branch name
- Type of account
- Date that you would want to be debited (it would be advisable to make this as close to the salary date as possible)
We have direct debit facilities with the following banks:
- Barclays Bank Botswana
- Standard Chartered Bank Botswana
- First National Bank Botswana
If you bank with any other bank, you are advised to use an ordinary bank stop order, although this method does not allow annual updates.
Although Botswana Life endeavors to collect the correct premium(s). It is your responsibility to ensure that their premiums are deducted accordingly, and you can do this by checking your salary advice slips or bank statements periodically. We would also urge you to contact our offices at least twice a year to enquire on the status of your policies.
If you have requested a premium amendment on your policies, you must ensure that the correct premium is being deducted from your salary or bank account. Call our offices should this not be correct. |
