MRI - Medical Rescue Benefit

Through a unique joint Venture with Medical Rescue International, Botswana Life Insurance limited is able to offer all existing and potential policyholders access to the Medical rescue International product as an ancillary benefit that can be attached to Botswana life’s Individual Life Products.

Remote medical advice/information

This benefit provides policyholders with fast and easy access to advice from medical professionals who are on 24 hour stand by. Should the beneficiary require medical advice, he, or his representative may contact the MRI Control Centre In Gaborone (3901 601), where MRI will advise the beneficiary on the steps he should take; depending on the description of the problem, provided to MRI.

Emergency medical assistance

In the event of a MEDICAL EMERGENCY occurring in or about the beneficiary’s home environment, the beneficiary should first contact his regular doctor, if he is unable to do so, MRI will endeavour to reach the Beneficiary by road, in the fastest manner possible. In the event of a MEDICAL EMERGENCY occurring outside the beneficiary’s home environment; MRI will endeavour to reach the Beneficiary by road, in the fastest manner possible, and,

Emergency medical transfer

Transfer of the beneficiary to the nearest, most appropriate medical facility, will be conducted by road. This relocation will be conducted by MRI, and is subject to the sole discretion of MRI with respect to the mode and level of accompanying medical supervision.
