Occupational Disability

This benefit is an accelerator payable on permanent disability through injury or illness resulting in a member being unable to continue with his own or suited occupation. The benefit pays when the member is totally and permanently disabled through sickness or accident.

This benefit is a supplementary benefit and can not be a stand alone policy and it is never more than the death benefit. The maximum amount payable under this cover is currently P 1,200 000, unless otherwise stated in the policy schedule.

There is a six months waiting period before the benefit becomes payable, in case of adverse disablement this waiting period maybe waived at the absolute discretion of Botswana Life Insurance.
